Expanding the possibilities of tea catechins to various fields.
Mitsui Norin Co., Ltd. Food Research Laboratory (Fujieda city, Shizuoka prefecture, Japan)Our Food Research Laboratory, which was built in 1983 in Fujieda-shi, Shizuoka prefecture, provides strong technical support for our Polyphenon business division.

Specifically designed to uncover the links between "Tea and Health", our laboratory is continuously studying the broad aspects of tea components, especially the physiological effects from consuming tea catechins.

The well known function of tea catechins today were determined through basic studies conducted by our laboratory and collaboration with research facilities around the world. Polyphenon was developed based on the results of those studies. Mitsui Norin now holds many patents related to tea catechins, and has accumulated a massive amount of research for further use in practical studies.

Examining how we can extend the variety of health benefits that are expected of Polyphenon for our daily lives, we are energetically striving to develop worthwhile applications.

In order for catechins to be more palatable and better recognized by consumers, we are spending a great deal of time on research and development, not only for food and drinks, but for industrial uses as well.
